Jump the Shark: Border Wars

The show I chose for Jump the Shark is Border Wars on National Geographic. The reason I chose this tv show for Jump the Shark, is because once you watch one episode you know what all the other shows are going to be about. Most of the tv episodes out, are all the same, or they take place in the same areas. If the show were to have different areas of the border, it would be alot more entertaining.
When the show first came out I was addicted to it because all the episodes were new to me at the time. The show was also entertaining before the Jump the Shark moment because the borders covered in the show were amusing, and the information offered by the CBP officers was all new.
The reason the show went downhill after that was because the audiences knew what was going to happen. The show also repeated information, and cases that had been covered before in past episodes. The audiences need to know new information, and cases that appeal to the viewers attention. Personally I believe Jump the Shark moments ruin quality tv shows.

Julius Caesar item

The reason I chose this item is because this rememinded me of when Brutus and Cassius were drinking in their tents. This was in act 4 scene 3. Brutus and Cassius were arguing in the tents, and they then calmed down, and Brutus asked Cassius if he wanted anything to drink. Cassius said yes, and they both began drinking, and the first thing that came to my mind was out a wine glass.

Blog Post 3

http://gulfnews.com/opinions/editorials/violence-only-leads-to-more-violence-1.89509

This article relates to the topic "Violence leads to more violence." It relates to the quote because the attacks on Gaza are only enraging the crowds to fight more. The prime minister of Palestine said, "We will continue our attacks until we finish our enemies off." These words enraged the protestors, and pushed them to fight harder. The reason I believe this article relates to the motto because the soldiers of Palestine are only going to push the protestors to fight more. This fighting could encourage them to fight harder, and possibly it could cause more casualties. The motto Violence leads to more violence is true. This article is a great example of why I believe the motto is true. Fights and wars only lead to more fights and wars. These battles will continue until both sides to give up.

Runaway Animals

The time is two o’ clock in the afternoon; a hen, cow, sheep, and a pig are forced to create food for the townspeople. They are tired and bored of having to do this laborious process over and over. The evil farmer “John” has been overworking his animals, due to the fact that his farm business has been booming. Doing “busy, but not hard work,” the animals are sick and exhausted of not having leisure weekends free to spend with their family.
As weeks passed by, the Cow finally said, “Enough is enough I am tired of being forced to create milk, and have to give it up to the townspeople.” After a day passed by, the Cow calls a meeting to meet with the Hen, Sheep, and Pig. He explains the plan quickly. “Alright soldiers, are you tired of having your weekends taken away?!” “Yeah!” Yell the animals. “Well then we need to think of a plan to get passed our work, SEND ME IDEAS!” No one spoke; they stayed quiet thinking of the perfect plan. Suddenly the Hen yells out, “ Why don’t we escape every weekend and go to the river with our family, and enjoy time with them. Then we return on Monday and continue our jobs. We will do this until John understands we are tired of losing peaceful time with our family, and friends.” “Great idea!” Said the Cow. “This Saturday we shall run to Glass River, and return until Monday. And we will do this until John returns our family time.”
Few days passed and the animals continued their routine labor. When Saturday came along. The Cow gave his  “GO” sign. The animals knew to quickly grab their family and run towards the river. There they all met up, and made their own little campsite. The Pigs weren’t too sure about this idea. One of them said, “ What if they send us to the slaughterhouse?” The cow replied, “ Then it’s a chance we have to take.” Not to sure about the plan, the animals decided to stay anyway. Monday morning came, and the farmer had yet to find the animals. After his long search John gave up and lost hope in finding his animals.
Heading inside John noticed the animals returning from the river. He then quickly went to fetch them. Another week passed and the animals returned to the river. After a while the farmer caught on to their weekend routine, and made a plan of his own. “I’m going to follow them.” Next Saturday came along and he followed the animals to the campsite. He saw the animals having a blast with each other. The animals were playing, and spending their time together happily. It was then when the farmer understood he had been forcing the animals to work too hard. In the following weeks the farmer reflected on his unfair actions and decided to give his hard working animals a break.

Johns Declaration

Ethos:Look at your class rank. What are you? Explaining ethics.(Everyone should be equal, and not judged by who they are,)
Pathos:To enforce these laws, the workers shock them each time they pay attention to the object, or make any gesture towards the object. Gives the reader a sad emotion for the kids.
Logos:Don’t even get me started with that soma, the so called “happy, content, joyful, cheerful drug.” Don’t you know this is what drives our society crazy, and makes us show who were really not. Johns logical decision that soma is bad for the society.
Fellow society members, class ranks, and fellow workers I call to your attention that we have all been abused, and used by the evil DHC. I for one am sick and tired of all the rules, and regulations we have to follow. Can we not live freely? Without the hassle of having someone always looking over us? Most of all the poor Epsilons, always being confined to do their jobs, and nothing else but their jobs. For all the Epsilons, and everyone who feels confined to the society. I declare freedom from this crazy society.
Can we not have the chance to love someone for who they are, and not just for having sex with them? Just like Benvolio’s good friend. All this sex and sex talk drives me crazy! For all the people who just care about having sex, think, what do I get out with having sex with so many people? All everyone talks about in this society is about how well their sex “buddy” was, or who they want to have sex with. For all the people who are tired of being forced to have sex with so many people, I declare independence from this society.
Don’t even get me started with that soma, the so called “happy, content, joyful, cheerful drug.” Don’t you know this is what drives our society crazy, and makes us show who were really not. It doesn’t make our lives better. Instead it is killing our brains, and making us not have feelings. The only thing we feel during soma is this happy feeling. Our true selves aren’t shown. All soma is, is this drug that takes over our thoughts so every moment could be happier, and better. So for all the people who are tired of taking soma I declare freedom from this emotion killing drug.
Look at your class rank. What are you? Wouldn’t you rather have your class rank determined by your actions, and not some machine. The savages have the easy life. They are all equal, and no one is better than the other. All their actions are what determine the rank they belong in. They are all given a chance, to where here in this society we have no say, but just to keep living the way we are. Yes all the Alphas are happy where their at, but think about what did they do to be Alphas. Absolutely nothing, machines, and a factory decided who they were going to be. So for the fairness of our future society. I declare freedom from the evil factory and machines that made us.
Have you seen how they teach kids, on how not to like certain objects? Isn’t the normal way for teaching kids on what to like and not like, the normal way. For example some of the kids are taught to hate flowers and books. To enforce these laws, the workers shock them each time they pay attention to the object, or make any gesture towards the object. The shocking of children is not necessary. The kids should be taught in a nice manner, and not in a hurtful, painful, heartless way. As we grow we learn right from wrong. These poor defenseless kids are being shocked just so they could grow up hating a specific object. For all the painful techniques the factory uses to teach us right from wrong, I declare independence from this society.
